Back in Korea from studying abroad, spunky get-goer Eun Sung (Han Hyo Ju) goes from riches to rags when her father suddenly passes away. She never gets the chance to see her father for the last time and even loses her autistic brother (Yun Joon Suk) - all because of her stepmother's (Kim Mi Sook) treachery and the unwitting meddling of arrogant restaurant heir Woo Hwan (Lee Seung Gi). As fate would have it, Eun Sung ends up saving Woo Hwan's grandmother (Ban Hyo Jung) by chance. Touched by Eun Sung's kind heart and hardworking nature, Woo Hwan's grandmother not only decides to take her in, she names Eun Sung her heir!
